Dear colleagues from CIPSH member organisations,
I would like to draw your attention to the online conference “Humanities and Social Sciences for Sustainability” on October 21 & 22. CIPSH is an official partner of the event and our president Prof Chao Gejin is giving the welcome address emphasizing the importance of the event for the humanities.
The conference is part of the implementation of the program of the International Year of Global Understanding, proclaimed by CIPSH together with the, then, International Social Sciences Council (ISSC) and International Science Council (ICSU), on the basis of a UNESCO proclamation. The IYGU was initiated by our member, the International Geographical Union IGU). The conference is organized by Prof Benno Werlen, UNESCO Chair on Global Understanding for Sustainability, member of APHELEIA and Scientific Committee member of the European Humanities Conference 2021. The conference aims to bridge the gap between the different academic traditions and perspectives in the field of sustainability. For further details please see the attached letter by the organizer.
